2025-07-06 views 161

On the morning of July 6, the first 114,000 DWT LR2 type oil tanker "BERKELEY SQUARE" built by our Group's New Yangzi Shipbuilding for Zodiac shipowner was delivered and departed from shipyard wharf into operation.

The results meet the design standards. The vessel measures 248.8 meters in length overall, 44.0 meters in moulded width, 21.5 meters in moulded depth, scantling draft of 15.0m, design draft of 13.5m and design speed of 14.5 knots. The design and construction of the vessel incorporates the latest technological achievements: (1) Through CFD multi-round iterative optimization of the hull form and the implementation of energy-saving devices such as those to reduce wave-making resistance, the overall efficiency has been increased by about 7% compared with the previous generation of ship types. (2) When using conventional fuels, the vessel's Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) is 5.5% lower than the baseline value, meeting the requirements of EEDI Phase 3. (3) The vessel's structural design meets the latest CSR-H standards. Through structural optimization, the structural weight has been significantly reduced compared to the previous generation of ship types, while having a larger deadweight and cargo capacity. (4) The vessel is equipped with a scrubber and HPSCR, meeting the latest SOX and NOX emission requirements. (5) Through the application of new technologies, the vessel possesses advantages such as green energy saving, large loading capacity, and high level of intelligence. Fuel consumption, speed, comfort, and other indicators have all reached advanced levels in the industry.

On July 4th, Mr. Pavel Vamesu, Site Manager of Zodiac, and Mr. Du Chengzhong, Vice General Manager of our Group and General Manager of New Yangzi Shipbuilding, signed the delivery documents on behalf of their respective parties.
